a broken arm

Ethan has managed to do something that Travis nor I have ever done, and that would be break a bone.
Mon. evening Ethan all of a sudden decided to jump off of the couch, trying to jump over something in the process, and fell just right on his right arm. He screamed in pain and we weren't quite sure what to do. We knew something was wrong, just weren't sure if his arm was broken or just sprained. We called the dr. and he said to wait it out until the a.m. to see how ethan was. The next morning I noticed that his forearm was bending away from his body slightly so I decided to make him a dr.'s appt. and go from there. The dr. ordered xrays and we soon discovered that he broke both of the bones in his right forearm. The dr. decided that ethan had a bad enough break that he would have to be put under anesthesia in order for them to be able to set his bones back in place. So on wed. morning ethan had to be back at the hospital at 6:30 a.m. and they put him to sleep, set his arm and put his permanent cast on. So now our four year old has a cast from the tip of his fingers to almost his armpit. It hasn't slowed him down one bit. He has been a trooper through this whole thing and has been very resilient. Here is a picture to show his cast off.
Aside from ethan breaking his arm, the rest of us are doing well. Sophie is now two months old which is hard to believe. Time is flying by....by the time ethan gets his cast off, which is in five weeks, it's hard to believe we will be close to Thanksgiving already. We hope everyone reading this is well.....

We are well here, thankfully. The kids are all working on pictures and cards for Ethan. Lydia runs around the house saying "DON'T JUMP OFF THE COUCH!" to her brothers. Too cute. We're praying for Ethan. Hope you all survive the trial.
love,
