birthdays

my mom had a birthday a few days ago and she got to go away for a night. when she got back she decided she still wanted to do cake with the kids so we had cake and ice cream a few nights ago.... and along with that played some wii. =) ethan decided he wanted to make mom a book for her birthday. he called it 'ethan and nana's story.' it was about 5 pages long and very cute! we love our nana and are glad we are around to celebrate with her!! =)
yesterday we went on a train ride to celebrate my grandpa's 70th! we all had a blast. the landscape was beautiful, despite the fact that it was FREEZING! we ended up getting off in a small town called peninsula and we ate lunch and just hung out. while we were waiting for the train to come back, the boys decided they wanted to have a snow ball fight with a few of us that we crazy enough to wait outside. =) the train ride is an activity that i am almost positive we will all do again. we are thankful for grandpa and hope that he had a wonderful birthday! we love him very much and are thankful for the godly example he sets for us. thank you for letting us be apart of the celebration!!!
