daily quite time

we have begun having a daily quiet time with the kids and this is the book we are using to do it. it's called 'the Jesus storybook bible.' -- which i highly recommend by the way. it has been a wonderful time that we have been able to spend together as a family... sometimes minus daddy bc of his work schedule, but still. =) we have started reading random things out of the Bible as well, just to let the kids know that the devotion books aren't the Bible, but that the stories in the devotion books come from the Bible. we also have a "what can we learn from the story time" and i have been journaling their answers. it is awesome to hear their thoughts about God and who they think He is.
here are some examples of what the kids have shared about what they have been learning about God.
- God loves us.
-God made us to look like Him.
-God made the whole world and everything in it.
....can you tell we are starting in Genesis. =)
-If you don't obey God you will make Him sad.
- You can obey God anywhere.
-God hates sin.
-People were being mean to Noah, and had sins in their heart, not Jesus in their heart.... that's why God had to send the flood.
-You can't live without God.
-God wants to be our friend.
-The ppl were trying to build a big staircase to heaven --the tower of babel-- but they couldn't reach heaven, bc God had to bring heaven down to us.
-Miracles happen bc God gave Abraham, who was really old, a son.
-God looks on the inside not the outside. God looks at the heart.

we also have learned the verse ps. 48:14. "for THIS God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even til the end." this verse pretty much sums it up for us. =)

like i said, this has been a special time with my babies that has really blessed my heart. as you have read this, i hope that it has blessed yours too. =)
