time at the park

the kids and i had a little adventure a few days ago. we decided to go back to some familiar territory--where my parents used to live-- and have some fun. we went to a park that has ducks and two playgrounds! we bought some corn for the ducks and they were all quite hungry. we stayed a little while at the one playground and then decided to go to the other one the park had. the kids played a little bit and then we had a picnic lunch. the kids played a little more and then decided that they wanted to go back to the other playground, so we headed back over to the other one. after that we went on a hike behind my mom and dad's old house. many memories have been made in that neck of the woods! made us miss my mom and dad even more-- wasn't sure that was possible, but it was. but my mom reminded me that closeness has nothing to do with distance!! love that!! all in all we were there for a good part of the day and it was a lot of fun and it pooped the kids out, which is always a good thing! here are some pics from the day:
