vegetarian

ok... so i was doing school with e today and he was having to write down what he looked forward to being when he grows up. on the paper he said "vegetarian." I thought he meant a "veterinarian." so here is how our conversation went.
me: e, what do you want to be?
e: a vegetarian
me: what's a vegetarian?
e: someone who eats lots of vegetables.
me: you know they don't eat meat right? you wouldn't be able to eat your chicken nuggets, cheese burgers, chicken patties, chicken, etc?
e: well, i'll be a vegetarian who does eat meat.
me: they don't like meat, that's why they eat just vegetables. you know that means you would have to eat a lot of vegetables too right? like broccoli, corn, peas, carrots, etc.
e: oh, i don't like vegetables, never mind, i don't want to be a vegetarian.
me: ok, you don't have to be a vegetarian when you grow up.

conversations you don't plan on having with your 6 yr. old about when they grow up, but something that makes you chuckle none-the-less. =)
