summer kids spectacular a.k.a vbs!
this last week was s.k.s at our church and the boys couldn't stop talking about it all week. the theme was rome, paul and the underground church. each night they opened the evening up with worship. then the different groups broke off and went to different stations. one station was "paul" under house arrest chained to brutus. each night paul would give the kids a "thought" for the night. night one: God's love is a free gift. night two: God's love changes us. night three: nothing can separate us from God's love. night four: God's love saves us. night five: God's love is worthy of sharing with others. let me just say, paul did it in such a way that c, who is normally oblivious, was able to tell me what paul's message was each night. that in and of itself, to me, was awesome! our fellowship hall was turned into a "roman" marketplace, where there were petting zoo animal, "stores" where the kids could "purchase" food and stuff with coins that they had been given, and they were just able to feel apart of how a marketplace might have felt back then. all of the volunteers dressed up in bible period costumes which i think totally helped bring the theme to life.

they had game time, snack time, and ended the night with family time and more worship.

we heard some statistics last night and know that 300+ kids came through the door throughout the course of the week. 120 kids came all 5 nights and 68 kids were saved!! all i can say is that getting kids saved is what the week was all about! i am very proud of my church and am glad that i was able to be apart of something that ppl were willing to give their all to. this past week was awesome!
